Water quality

The water’s turbidity level, implying cloudiness and haziness attributes, is directly proportional to the amount of TSS. The water tank has turbidity sensors that record the increase in water’s turbidity level with increase in TSS. The water is considered to be dirty when the turbidity of water crosses the threshold value and indicates the point.… Continue reading Water quality

Water leveling

The water level in the tank is measured by the ultrasonic sensor that is clamped at the top of the water container. The measurement is recorded by measuring the distance to the target. When the water level in the tank goes below a threshold, the farmer is notified via text or an email. On receiving… Continue reading Water leveling

Automatic watering

The water pumps and soil moisture sensors are the essential encompassment of the framing module. The level of moisture is recorded by the soil moisture sensor. The low-level of moisture in the soil is fulfilled with the sensor’s automatic switching of the water pump. The water pump is halted as soon as the sensor senses… Continue reading Automatic watering

Methodology

A six-phase model is proposed to achieve the desired results as described in Figure 10.3. Circuit diagram: The system comprises devices like Arduino UNO, turbidity sensor, soil moisture sensor, ultrasonic sensor, ESP8266, LED light bulb, jumper wires, resistor and bread board as shown in Figure 10.4.

Proposed system

Based on the above concerns we have created a model which is based on IoT for smart farming agriculture activities and follows the below-mentioned objectives: To achieve the proposed model, three sensors are used: This sensor helps in measuring the light transmitted in order to determine the turbidity of the water. When there is cloudiness… Continue reading Proposed system

Literature survey

IoT technology is growing at a very fast rate and is being used in farming nowadays. The very first conference papers on IoT-based application were published in 2010 (Duan, 2011). Since then, numerous works have been done in IoT field. It is helping in increasing resources. There have been many contributions in this area by… Continue reading Literature survey

Introduction

Farming in Rajasthan is barely successful. The main cause for the failure of farming techniques is the wrong predictions. These unforeseeable situations are forcing many of the farmers to even take their own lives as they are unable to bear the enormous losses. Hence, we need to keep the essential parameters of agriculture in our… Continue reading Introduction

Result and conclusion

The result of this project was a cost-efficient and easy-to-use system that can have applications in real world. It will help the farmers in drought-affected areas the most while conserving water and food grains. On a personal level, the project was an enriching experience. It allowed us to have a hands-on experience on practical projects… Continue reading Result and conclusion
